Hydrogen and oxygen, two key elements that form H20, this transparent liquid that is vital to all forms of life let alone essential for optimal health and fitness. Growing up, I could never quite grasp the fascination for this colourless, odourless fluid. To me, it was just a boring looking tasteless thing called water! However, during my fitness journey, the benefits of drinking water regularly have been so evident and apparent I now literally swear by it. Water has been paramount to how I feel and think when exercising; it has had such a positive effect on my overall health condition.
Reasons why water has helped me and is essential for everyone
- Helps with weight loss
- Helps increase physical performance by keeping the body well hydrated
- Boost metabolism + energy levels
- Eliminates toxins from the body
- Enhances nutrient absorption for the body
- Good for the skin
- Maintains blood pressure
- Improves mood + concentration
- Aids digestive health

How much should I drink?
Carrying around a water bottle with me and taking regular sips throughout the day worked wonders for me, and was much easier than trying to gulp down pints of water once or twice a day in an attempt to meet my water requirements.
My cravings for sugary drinks and snacks subsided due to drinking water regularly. I often drink when I wake up and a glass before going to bed; it’s become a daily habit. I have found that I have gotten used to the taste of water, it quenches my thirst better than alternative drinks. Water has defiantly had a positive effect on me.
Until next time, stay kind, stay safe
