Why you should drink beetroot juice

Beetroot, I’ll admit it, it’s not the most exciting vegetable out there, but the health benefits of it are undeniable.   Beetroot helps cleanse your liver, lower blood pressure, and wait for it….. boots physical performance.   I don’t like to have plain beetroot juice, but, here is my favourite recipe: Portion: the below will approx give you 1.5L of juice and last 2 – 3 days Ingredients:
  • 1 medium fresh beetroot
  • 1 large orange
  • 2 carrots (medium)
     Method using a blender:
    1. Peel beetroot (careful with your clothes, it stains), orange, carrots
    2. I tend to cut beetroot, carrots and oranges into chunks
    3. Put into blender
    4. Add 800ml – 1L of water
    5. Blend ( I usually go up to the highest speed)
    6. Ready to drink with bits, I love the bits 
    7. Optional: if you don’t like bits, use a colander to drain

    Extra information: Orange: great source of vitamin C, I believe it does wonders for my skin, healthy immune system, lowers cholesterol, and many more

    Carrot: carrots are my favourite snacks; they are great full of fibre, antioxidants and antioxidants.
